Samuel Aaron Bennett is a filmmaker, composer, writer and cartoonist from New York.

At the age of nine, Sam fell in love with his family’s first analog camcorder, that would become the weapon for him and his friends to fight suburban boredom. These home movie style shorts became instant hits in his small town on Long Island. Even in those early years, Sam also learned that for him–being born into a musical family–composing the underscore for his footage was every bit as enthralling as directing, shooting, and editing the work itself.

During his time studying Classical Composition at SUNY Purchase College, Sam continued to make movies. Once he was out the gates, he published his first major short, Baby. Starring Renée Felice Smith (NCIS LA, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Baby was welcomed with a World Premiere at SXSW 2015, and continued to receive noteworthy press included the Vimeo Staff Pick and Short of The Week Official Selection.

As another outlet, he has directed videos for Google, Facebook, Rivian, Vogue, and Under Armour. He also creates music videos for both indy and internationally touring artists, and produces music under his moniker Wales.

Currently Sam resides in Los Angeles, where he is developing his debut feature film.
